14 de Noviembre del año 2018: Temucuicui, Malleco, Región de La Araucanía, Chile. El Comunero Mapuche Camilo Catrillanca es asesinado a causa de un letal balazo en la cabeza, realizado por Carabineros en un confuso incidente a cargo del denominado "Comando Jungla", unidad de fuerzas especiales impulsada por el Estado Chileno para el control de actos "terroristas". Se habla de un intercambio de balas entre mapuches y fuerzas policiales por el robo de un vehículo. Testigos aseguran que este suceso no fue así. La opinión pública exige pruebas al respecto, sosteniendo que los efectivos policiales del Comando Jungla cuentan con cámaras de video para grabar los procedimientos.
Carabineros, admite la existencia de un video grabado por el sargento Raúl Avila; el contenido fue destruido para evitar la divulgación de "imágenes privadas" según dice la versión oficial. El asesinato genera una fuerte crisis interna en la institución, resultando la destitución del director de Carabineros, Hermes Soto. A más de un mes, el 19 de Diciembre de 2018, se confirma la existencia de tres videos más; fueron entregados a la prensa y luego a la fiscalía por terceros. El material confirma de forma explícita el asesinato de Camilo Catrillanca por parte de Carabineros de Chile.
En el video se ve a Camilo manejando un tractor azul junto a un niño, se escuchan las instrucciones de apertura de fuego y disparos por parte del Carabineros, dando como resultado el desplome de Camilo Catrillanca, quien es torpemente asistido por parte de los efectivos. El resultado es la muerte del joven dirigente mapuche.

The public demands proof, pointing out that Jungle Command officers carry body cameras specifically to record their operations.
Carabineros admits the existence of a video recorded by Sergeant Raúl Ávila — footage that was deliberately destroyed to prevent the release of "private images," according to the official story. The murder triggers a severe internal crisis within the institution, resulting in the removal of Carabineros director Hermes Soto. More than a month later, on December 19, 2018, the existence of three additional videos is confirmed; they are handed to the press and subsequently to the prosecutor's office by third parties. The material explicitly confirms the murder of Camilo Catrillanca at the hands of Chilean Carabineros.
The video shows Camilo driving a blue tractor alongside a child. The order to open fire and the shots that follow can be clearly heard, causing Camilo Catrillanca to collapse. He is clumsily attended to by the officers. The outcome is the death of the young Mapuche leader.
